After a prominent all-state high school career at Center Point - Urbana, Coach Elgin went on full basketball scholarship to NCAA D2 Upper Iowa University.  In his 4 years there (09'-13') Coach Elgin scored over 930 points and was a team captain on the 2013 team that was the first team in school history to win 20 games and earn a trip to the NCAA D2 March Madness National Tournament!!

Since 2014, Coach Sam Elgin has been the owner and lead trainer with Formula Basketball. Specializing in "one-on-one" training to help players build, develop, and strengthen not only their physical skills, but their mental understanding of the inner workings of the game of basketball and life.  Clients have ranged from as young as 1st grade to professional clients!
